NYX Cosmetics Guilty Pleasures Box Set

I'm embarrassed to say that I am now discovering NYX cosmetics. Yeah I know , but luckily I have . Well actually I should  correct myself it's not that I never knew about NYX it's just I never really tried them , but thanks to my sweetheart now I have. He purchased the NYX Guilty Pleasures Box Set at Marshall's for $19.99 this box is originally priced at $34.00. The kit contains 3 single eye shadows, a triple eyeshadow palette,glitter, 2 sheer glosses, lip pencil, 2 eye pencils and a loose powder. Since this is a box set I'm going to break up the review by product. Each product review has a swatch picture below it , please forgive my camera some colors have come out lighter than they are .

      

  

Triple Eye Shadows / Single Eyeshadows 

All of the eyeshadows  have a really good pigment and they last really well and you can build up the color to the intensity that you want. The colors in the triple palette are lightly frosted purple tones . The palette has a mirror and small applicator . I personally appreciate the mirror the less you have to carry in your makeup bag the better. I'm not fond of the applicator I have never been able to work with those and once you get eye shadow on them when you try to clean them they just start falling apart so I just discard them. 

                           

The single eyeshadows come in three colors, a black with gold undertones and silver specs. You'll see in the picture below that when you apply the eyeshadow the gold specs don't show up too much if not  at all . This is the only eye shadow that has shimmer in it the others are just lightly frosted. The second eye shadow is a beautiful yellow gold and the third is a deep purple . 

                               

3. Eye and Lip Pencil

The kit comes with 2 eye pencils and 1 lip pencils . The eye pencils come in two colors white and black. The lip pencil is a plum color. The pencils are a little creamy and  they are blend-able so you can use them as a base for your eyeshadow. If you do use them as a base they hold on to the color really well.

                        

4. Glitter

The glitter is an intense gold , it is a glitter powder so the size of the glitter is not extremely chunky.

                                   

5. Loose Powder

This is the only problem I found within the kit , the loose power is a tan color I unfortunately will not be able to use this as a finishing powder since my skin tone is very light but I did find that I can use it as a light countering powder . I just simply put it on top of my foundation. The packaging is a pretty nice size and it comes with good quality applicator sponge . The coverage on this powder is light so again you can build up the color .

                                 

                                

6. Sheer Gloss

The glosses are beautiful.The colors that come in this kit are a peach and a deep pink color. They look intense in the packaging but they go on sheer but like all the products in this kit you can really build the color.The peach color is your basic peach gloss and the pink gloss has tiny silver specs in it. They are not extremely sticky like a lot of the MAC ones. 

                                

The glosses and the loose powder have a light fragrance . I personally like the smell. The glosses smell like candy and the loose powder has a light floral scent. These are not intensely fragranced so it does not over power the products  . Over all this kit is amazing and it is because of this kit that I am falling in love with NYX . There product are affordable but there good and they are suitable for all skin tones and ages.
